Madden NFL 23 is expected to take things to the next level

I'm not sure if the changes are the result of the ever-present jibes about how every new Madden is simply a roster upgrade and the most absurd in-season of superstar moves I've ever seen or the most recognizable name of the game dying this year. But it looks like EA Sports is actually going to give us Supernerds of stimulation football just a few crumbs of changes!

I'm not saying that, but I'm sure that the excitement of adding features that let players chase rings and/or warm weather cities with gorgeous women will fade once we realize the gameplay and announce tracks are the exact same like the last five Maddens. However, this is the time on the football calendar , when we get excited about the new features announced in Madden as well as being irritated about what the player ratings on our favorite team are but then remember that we've made our decision regarding whether or not we were going to buy this year's game months before.

The bottom line is that if EA Sports wants Madden to be the same force that it was when we all kids, they are going to be required to add new features to Franchise Mode which make it feel like you are playing in the game. That is clearly stated by this voice.

I'm talking about billionaire owners holding cities hostage for funding of new stadiums with the threat of moving the team to a new city (London is the new LA), superstars wiping their Instagram of every image that had a team logo, and hold-outs/hold-ins/whatever crazy shit football players do to get a few extra guaranteed dollars playing a sport that has 100 different human car crashes any given Sunday.

But, as long as this guy is the one in command of the sole licensing arrangement for EA Sports, there is a less than 0% chance any of that happens. That's fine. I'm going to just hope that these changes signal the beginning of a revival for Madden while also fully preparing myself for them to be however, but hope for the best as I'm one of those who EA is able to count on receiving my $59.99 every year, even if they don't display the GOAT on the cover.
